1 Kings chapter 11 shows through the fall of Solomon that even a man who has received great grace, wisdom, and riches from God can go the road of idolatry at any time if he does not keep his heart. Solomon was the king who built the temple of the LORD, the king who received wisdom from God, and a man so greatly blessed that the people of the world came to him when they heard of his glory. But in his later years he loved foreign women, and his heart was turned away from God.
